When
choosing your wedding style, you want to first consider is
your personality. How do you ordinarily dress? Is that the
same look you want to convey for your wedding, or do you
wish to go against the grain and have a look you always
dreamed of but never considered doing?
The look and style of your attire and wedding as a whole
will all be entirely up to you.
Consider these recommendations for the look you want:
· The look and feel of your ceremony and reception sites.
· A look that will also compliment your groom.
· The time of day of your wedding.
· The time of the year of your wedding.
· The contour of your body. |

Please keep in mind that just because it
comes in your size and looks good in a picture or on a hanger,
doesn’t mean it will look good on you or for the style of your
event.
Make a visit to your local bridal shop, even if you will not
purchase your gown there. Spend the day trying on different types
of dresses. Be sure to come to the shop with cut outs of dresses
that appeal to you and be sure to share with the shop attendant
the look and feel of your ceremony/reception sites as well as the
date and time of the affair.
This is an excellent time for you to have a good friend or family
member to come along and give you some suggestions.
Carry a camera along with you so that you can later sit and study
the dresses for yourself.
If it feels and looks right to your eyes and your heart, than that
should be the way for you to go. It doesn’t matter if anyone
else’s opinion mirrors yours. Go with what’s right for you. Same
goes for if the dress doesn’t look or feel right. Perhaps there is
a dress that looks good, but there a certain things about it that
make it not so good. Sometimes, depending on what it is, a simple
alteration or the right undergarments will make that dress look
absolutely perfect.
Above all else, be honest with yourself and trust your instincts.
We all have a unique 6th sense about us that lets us know what’s
good and what’s not. Be sure to pay attention to that when
choosing your personal style. You’ll be glad that you did.© |
