From cruise ships, to Caribbean Islands and even abroad in
Europe. The excitement of being in a distant venue adds to
the experience in a very romantic way. I see couples so
excited when they are preparing for the ceremony, meeting
with the florists for that right touch of local flowers and
the caterers for the native cuisine. Once you have been to a
Destination Wedding you will talk about it for years. Having
a smaller guest list lends itself for the intimacy of your
closest friends. The exotic settings not only add to the
appeal of the wedding, they bring a whole different attitude
to the ceremony and the reception. The wedding could be used
as a great vacation time for all concerned.
| But beware of the time of year for the beach
wedding. If you are planning a mid summer wedding be
prepared to be very hot and sometimes the humidity is
very bad. Plan on a ceremony an hour or so before
dusk, the temperature will be much better, and the
early evening reception will be a joy. Check the
long-term weather forecasting for the location of your
wedding before making any plans. And please watch
hurricane season… |

Some Hints:
Make sure you have plenty of bottled water on ice. Before
the ceremony, have your Attendants hand out the water and be
creative. Have custom labels on the bottles, with your names
and local of the wedding. Your guests will love it.
Remember your older guests be prepared to have some kind of
overhead tent or beach umbrella.
Have a decorative container with chilled face towels.
Be prepared and let your guests enjoy the moment not endure
it.
So, let your mind go wild, get out of town and take some
friends with you…
Bring your own professional. Being from out of town, there
are vendors waiting to take advantage of you. I know because
I have been to the islands at least a hundred times. So
bring your own photographer, you wont regret it.
Don’t forget about wedding gifts, please tell your guests in
your invitation to leave them in the USA till you get home.
Due to the fact that there will be a lot of trouble in
shipping and it also gives you another reason for a party on
the mainland…
